Scalloped Edge Clothes!

In these photos Chloe Sevigny wears nude, light scalloped shorts and above a white blazer with a beautiful scalloped collar. By Chloe... They look so light, airy and girly! I LOVE them! However my student self cannot afford these prices... Luckily... the high street are catching on and this spring / summer have seen a few similar items about to hit the shops for a much cheaper price! :D Its a good example of how high street is inspired by high fashion and the catwalk. Im really interested about where fashions come from and start so thought I would blog about them!

Look Books - Wildfox

I have been looking at the brand Wildfox and their look book as inspiration. I love that its not an average standard plain, studio, plain background photo shoot but its on location and has fun and personality oozing out of it!
The look book shows young girls, looking very much like little drama queens dressed up in an amazingly beautiful, royal house. They look like they are spoilt with materialistic belongings and have everything they want. There is one of a glamourous looking girl lounging around on a blow up lilo in the pool- like the ultimate lady of leisure. They have the life a lot of young girls would love. It just looks like so much fun, and the photo shoot looks fun. I think this is what they are trying to get across to their target market and what they are about. Just not taking life too seriously and having a good time. I like that they are saying this through the pictures and that it's almost telling a story. As i'm creating 5 different contrasting styles and looks for my photo shoot I want personality and a feel of what each style is about to come through the photos. So background and posing is as important as the styling. Evaluating these in my sketch book will help me with more ideas and ways i could look at showing the different styles in my shoots.

Trend Book Results

I got the results for my look book... I thought it was ok. I defiantly let myself down with my time planning and the sketchbook needed a lot more work and research in there. I think I could done better and we discussed that issue in my tutorial and so i know what to do for my next project and that is to make a time plan and stick to it! Also to write and evaluate more in my sketch book to give a clearer idea of my intentions and progress and where i'm going wrong and right so i can correct  or change my direction for the better!

New Look Book Project

So we have been given our professional project brief and that is to make a kind of 'look book' thats linked into our key word which is 'revolutionary'.

I want to look at the progression and 'evolution' of fashion, why and how its changed due to political issues and changes/what was going on in the world. My theory is that in fact that we have reached a place where we have had so many different strong looks, that it is now very fashionable to wear clothes from past trends,  modernised or not. It's fashionable to mix and match old pieces with new. Shops are seemingly re-creating modern styles of old trends such as 50's and Punk and creating clothes that have a vintage look and feel, from browsing shopping websites I see they even name them names like 'vintage tee'.
Because of issues such as the economical climate and need for the world to become economically friendly , vintage fashion is more popular and bought than  ever before, we are being encouraged to buy vintage, recycle, buy sustainable or clothing from eco friendly materials and companies so vintage is also bringing back previous styles.
I want to go street style spotting in London to try and help prove my point.
